Known for their elaborate construction and world-famous architecture, these two extraordinary structures were designed by Ludwig II, also known as the Swan King. You will soon discover why many believe that Neuschwanstein Castle inspired the Disney castles: prepare to feel as if you are living in a real fairy tale. Hidden in the seclusion of the mountains, German King Ludwig II built two of his dream castles: Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Both bear witness to the Bavarian king's vision of fairy tales.
Departing from Munich, you will first visit Linderhof Castle, a French Rococo-style castle inspired by Versailles and surrounded by immaculately manicured gardens. A short stop for shopping and photos in the charming village of Oberammergau will allow you to recharge your batteries for the second part of the day. You will arrive at the idyllic Neuschwanstein Castle around 1:00 pm, where you will have about 4 hours to explore the castle.
