Japan Rail Pass Global is the rail pass for to visit Japan conveniently and... 300 km/h!!!

You can use almost all Japan Railways trains, including high-speed “Shinkansen” trains (Nozomi and Mizuho can be used by paying an additional fee at the station for mandatory seat reservations (4,000-8,000 yen). Urban railways, JR shuttle bus services, and Tokyo Monorail are included.

Valid for 7, 14 or 21 days (consecutive) of unlimited travel. Choose the Ordinary 2nd class fare or the prestigious Green 1st class fare.
Can only be purchased outside Japan.
Valid only for passengers with tourist visas.

You will receive, directly to the address you entered as "shipping address," everything you ordered, by express courier. Issuance of your Japan Rail Passes may take up to 3 or 4 business days. Shipping will be done taking into account your departure date. We will operate to get your Japan Rail Passes to you as early as possible.

Passes can be picked up at offices at major stations, which display the sign:

"Midori-no madoguchi."

At these offices you can also reserve a seat.

When you pick up, you will need to fill out a simple form (found at JR offices directly in Japan) along with your passport and the "Temporary Visitor" stamp that is applied upon arrival in Japan. The Pass will not be delivered without your passport. On the form, respect the exact spelling of first and last names as they appear on your passport.

Pay attention to compound names, maiden name, etc.

Shinkansen and  e most of the ordinary and special express trains have bookable seats in the Green class carriage (1st class)and both bookable and unbookable stats in the second class.

Japan Rail Pass is not valid for "Nozomi" trains.

You can take the free seats simply showing your Japan Rail Pass.
The seat reservation can be made at no extra charge.
To make a reservation you can easy go to any Travel Service Center, to a JR station's booking office or to an affiliated travel agency.

During the peak periods it is not always possible to book seats: from 28 December to 6 January, from 27 April to 6 May, from 11 August to 20 August.

Once activated, the pass is valid for the number of consecutive days you purchased. Example: if you bought a 7 days pass and you use it for the first time on Thursday, at any time, the pass expires on the nbext Wednesday, at 23.59.

Once issued, Japan Rail Global Passes are neither changeable nor refundable. They can still be used within 3 months of issue.
