Amsterdam GVB travelcard

Free travel on Amsterdam's public transport: bus, tram and metro, excluding boats and the train to/from the airport.

You will receive, directly at the address you indicated as 'shipping address', everything you ordered in original. The GVB Travelcards will be the final ones, to be used on the spot without further formalities!

The Card is ready for use.  It is automatically activated the first time it is used.

By bus or tram

A magnetic reader is located next to the driver. Hold your Card in front of the reader, you will hear a beep and see a green light. This means that check-in is successful and you can take a seat for your journey. Check-out works in the same way, the magnetic reader is located near the exit doors.

In the underground

The magnetic reader is located on the right-hand side of the access doors. For line 51, the readers are on the metro stop platforms. Hold your Card in front of the reader. The gate opens and you hear a beep and a green light. You can now enter. You do the same when exiting the metro.

Once activated it will be valid for the number of consecutive hours you have purchased. For example: if you purchased a 72-hour card, and you use it for the first time on a Thursday at 12 noon, the card will expire at 11.59 a.m. on Sunday.
