Description

The cheapest and fastest way to reach the centre of Amstredam is undoubtedly by train.
The station is located on the lower level of the 'Arrivals' area and is easily accessible by escalators and lifts. It only takes a few minutes. Two types of trains operate between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Centraal:

SPR Sprinter - journey time 18 minutes - intermediate stops at Ams Lelylaan, Ams Sloterdijk
IC Intercity direct - travel time 14 minutes - no intermediate stops
Take the first train you want.

Validity

The ticket is valid for any SPR Sprinter and IC Intercity direct train on the day indicated as the departure date.

Cancellations and Refunds

Once issued, e-tickets are not changeable or refundable.

How it works

How to use

Train Tickets

Traveling with your e-ticket is easy. Access the gates using your e-ticket. Gates equipped with barcode scanners can be identified by the "Scan Ticket" symbol on the right gate door and the illuminated surface on the right side of the gate. Make sure the QR code is visible.

Choose a gate with a barcode scanner. Alternatively, you can show it to the staff on the train.

Travelcard

Take the bus or streetcar.

There is a magnetic reader near the driver. Hold your card in front of the reader. You will hear a beep and see a green light, which means that check-in is successful and you can take a seat for your trip. On the subway:

The magnetic reader is on the right side of the drop-off doors. For Line 51, the readers are on the subway stop platforms. Hold your card in front of the reader. The gate will open, and you will hear a beep and see a green light. You can now enter. Do the same when exiting the subway.

Validity

The ticket is valid for any SPR Sprinter or IC Intercity Direct train on the specified departure date.

The Amsterdam GVB travelcard is valid for the number of consecutive days purchased.

For example, if you purchase a three-day card and use it for the first time on Thursday, the card will be valid from midnight on Thursday and expire at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.
